The Friends of Sussex Hospices (FSH) has distributed £190,000 across the county’s 12 hospice care providers in the county.
These include St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice and Demelza.
Every year, the FSH raises cash through various fundraising events and the money is handed out among the hospices using a formula based on the amount of care provided.
FSH chairman Kathy Gore said, “We are very grateful to everyone who has helped us raise this money in the past year, whether it’s been by climbing mountains or helping to stuff envelopes. Our twentieth Christmas Fair will take place on December 3 at Ardingly - do come and support our hospices!”
FSH’s recent AGM was attended by trustees and supporters of the charity and hospice representatives as well as the High Sheriffs of East and West Sussex.
The event speaker, Dr Karol Sikora, leading British oncologist and Medical Director of CancerPartnersUK, gave glimpse of the future of cancer care and oncology funding, before taking a session of questions and answers
