KEEP Airbourne in Eastbourne and support the RNLI – that’s the message from Eastbourne Hospitality Association (EHA) as members prepare to take collections at the international airshow.

For the third year the EHA is organising a retiring collection of visitor donations at the town’s major summer event and this year, the EHA have nominated the RNLI as their chosen charity.

The collection will take place over all four days of Airbourne, from 11-14 August, and visitors are urged to look out for the bucket collectors wearing red t-shirts along the seafront between the Pier and the Western Lawns.

The EHA, formed of local accommodation providers, donated funds from the retiring collection to St Wilfrid’s Hospice in 2010 and to the Sussex Air Ambulance in 2009, is are keen to secure enough donations in 2011 to ensure that Airbourne is on a secure financial footing ready for its 20th anniversary next year.

Airbourne fans can start contributing towards this year’s collection now by donating online via E-shop at
