SNOWY weather failed to deter visitors to the Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes’ Christmas Fair on Saturday - and the result was a warming profit of £2,738.89.
A range of stalls including cakes, books, bric-a-brac and tombola raised £1,318, and the total was boosted by donations amounting to £1,420.
One kind supporter gave £1,000. Homes manager Lin Wilkinson said, “We are very grateful to the local resident who made that generous donation. Our thanks also go to all those who braved such awful weather to support the fair.”
The money raised will go to the Homes’ Amenity Fund which helps provide a range of extra items for residents.
