KEEN photographers are invited to submit their pictures of Eastbourne for a photographic competition and exhibition.
Image Eastbourne is being promoted by the Eastbourne Society and invites photographers to find new images along the routes set out in the Society’s Heritage Walks guide.
The competition aims to come up with a record of how the town looks today, and entries will be submitted for display in an exhibition at the Eastbourne Society’s Heritage Centre in Carlisle Road in July.
There is a prize of £300 for the winner, with runners up prizes of £150 and £50.
Judges will be Neil Farrin, professional photographer and teacher; Michael Kaye, magazine photographer and lecturer on the history of photography; and Roger Hilton, curriculum leader in Photography and Visual Arts at Sussex Downs College.
Entrants will need a copy of Heritage Walks to direct them towards potential subject matter. This is priced at £3 and can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre, Cornfield Road, or by cheque, payable to the Eastbourne Society, addressed to Tara House, 43 Upland Road, Eastbourne BN20 8ER. You can also obtain a copy by credit card by visiting visit.eastbourne.com
Entry specifications and further details can be found on the Eastbourne Society website, www.eastbournesociety.co.uk or call Owen Boydell on 721825. The closing date is May 31.
