The Stix Drummers are celebrating after raising thousands of pounds for charity this summer.
The group, which will be involved in the bonfire celebrations on Eastbourne seafront this Saturday, held a range of fundraisers for their chosen charities, Eastbourne Food Bank and the Duchenne Family Support Group for Muscular Dystrophy.
Kerry Byott, from the drumming group, said, “June 2015 was an amazing month for Stix Drummers of Eastbourne with the huge success of our Stix Summer Madness event that was held at Sharnfold Farm.
“In excess of 4,000 people attended and it was an event not to be missed.
“We would like to thank all our supporters for helping us to raise funds.
“We raised a grand total of £2,000.”
Emma Moreton from the Food Bank and Phillippa Farrant from DFSG received the cheques on behalf of their charities.
Kerry added, “Special thanks go to all our fantastic entertainers, stall holders, safety marshals and of course our own Stix Drummers for making this possible, including: Elemental Circus, Sambalanco, Icini Belly Dancers, Bellyfunk Fusion Belly Dancers, Sea Gypsies, Rythmfire Drummers, Ragged Phoenix Morris and The Archers of Herstmonceux Castle – the list is endless.”
Due to the success of the event, the Stix Summer Madness event will be held again next summer. Anyone who would like to get involved either as a stall holder or an entertainer is asked to get in touch.
