The Redoubt Fortress will be opening in the evening for a late night museum viewing and a film screening of House of Wax on Saturday (May 18, 7pm for an 8pm start).
The event is part of a nationwide event called Museums at Night, which is the Culture24’s festival of inspiring after hours cultural events in museums, galleries and heritage sites.
Guests will be able to look round the dark, spooky museum for an hour before the film starts, giving enough time to explore the Redoubt and see the museum come to life with a few scary surprises along the way.
Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
House of Wax (15) is a 1953 American horror film starring Vincent Price. It is a remake of Warners’ Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) without the comic relief featured in the earlier film, and was directed by André de Toth.
Tickets cost £5.
