Opticians have their eyes on the prize for this year’s annual pancake race in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Staff at Specsavers in Terminus Road will be taking part in the fourth annual Pancake Dash on February 12, where they will compete with other businesses from the area.

Martin East, Specsavers Eastbourne store director, said, “With the event taking place on Terminus Road, there was no way that we were going to miss out.

“We have already selected our team of four and have them in training now, ready to hopefully win the coveted Pancake Dash trophy.”

Lynsey Dickens, one of the Pancake Dash team, added, “We are all so excited about the day and can’t wait to see how much money we can raise for the charity.

“We’ve already collected more than £150 in sponsorship money, which is fantastic.”
