A cat hit by a car in Green Street recently is making a good recovery thanks to the Eastbourne group Basil Memorial Fund.
Sparrow, as she has been named, was a stray being fed by an elderly lady who went away for a few days.
Mary Corran from the group said, “During that time, she was hit by a car in Green Street. A Good Samaritan found her under a bush and took her to Chase Vets, where her leg would have been amputated but Basil donated funds to pin the injured leg, and a nice lady has offered her a home. We pay the vet bills.”
The Basil Memorial Fund is a non profit making organisation that raises money to provide veterinary care for abandoned or rescued dogs and cats in Eastbourne and Wealden.
