Film fans have a night of terror in store as the Redoubt kicks off their Hallowe’en week with a screening of the cult classic An American Werewolf In London.

To be screened on October 25 (8pm), the 1981 film will signal the start of a spooky week at the Redoubt which sees the final Twilight Tour of the season and an Eye of Newt, Toe of Frog – Potion Making fun workshop for children.

With Kids Go Free vouchers available for discounted museum entry on the website throughout half term, families can experience a spook-tacular visit and pick up the free Hallowe’en museum trail on arrival, with a lucky dip prize for all.

On October 26, the final Twilight Tour of the season will bring a ghoulish end to these popular weekly torchlit tours around the eerie corridors of the fortress. With stories of ghostly sightings and gruesome battles, including the mysterious lady in the white gown, this is not for the faint-hearted.

A hands on children’s craft workshop on October 29 will see young witches, wizards and mad scientists creating their own secret spell solutions and creepy concoctions in the fortress. Using gruesome ingredients hidden around the creepy corridors, from magic dust and creepy crawlies to oozy slime, children can make their own pungent potion to take home.

An American Werewolf in London begins with a series of short horror films, presented by Bloody Cut Films. Visitors will each receive a replica silver bullet to protect themselves from supernatural forces of the beastly kind. Open only to those aged 18 and over, tickets cost £5 per person with a licensed bar available.

Twilight Tours on October 26 cost the standard museum entry price of £4.50 per adult and run from 7pm to 8pm, with the museum and café open from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Children’s workshops on October 29 run from 10.30am-12noon for four to eight years of age, and 2pm to 3.30pm for eight to 12 years of age. Tickets cost £3 and all children under eight must be accompanied by an adult. Advance booking is essential for all events. Kids go free vouchers are available to download in advance on
