Sixty-year-old man attacked by hooded thugs in Eastbourne town centre

A 60-year-old man was left with a broken collar bone and a scratched and bruised face after he was assaulted by two men near Eastbourne railway station.

Officers were called to the scene just before 12.30am on Friday, December 11.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

He said he had been set upon by two black men in hoodies as he walked down Gildredge Road, after leaving a bar in South Street just after 11pm.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley said, “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious near the train station late on Thursday night.

“Witnesses can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 19 of 11/12.”
