Music, sport, drama and much more were on display at the first Seaford Youth Showcase at Seaford Baptist Church on March 2.
Cllr Carolyn Lambert, representing Seaford Sutton on East Sussex County Council, said the event, highlighting what there is for young people to do in the town, was a ‘great success’ and there had been good feedback from the organisations which attended.
It was organised by Carolyn Lambert together with Vicky Martin from Seaford Baptist Church.
“On behalf of Vicky Martin and myself, I would like to say a big thank you to all the organisations who gave up their Saturday to come along,” she said.
“We now all know that there is a fantastic amount for young people to do in Seaford and I know that a number of the organisations which came along have discovered new ways in which they can work together for the benefit of our young people.
“The displays were spectacular, including a boat from the sailing club and opportunities for outdoor pursuit activities.
“We had wonderful performances from the Seaford School of Dance, the Chyngton Youth Academy of Arts and Drama and the Seaford Youth Theatre group.
“All of them had great stories to tell about the achievements of their pupils so we can be really proud of what we are doing here in Seaford.”
A wide range of organisations attended the event to tell 11-18-year-olds about what they had to offer them.
