A fuming shopper has been left £80 out of pocket after parking in the wrong space in a town centre car park.
Elaine Alff parked in a space outside Stone Carpets (pictured), as the firm offers free parking for customers, and went inside the store.
But on returning to her car, Elaine discovered she had in fact parked in a space owned by Iceland - leaving her with an £80 fine.
Elaine told the Herald: “Apparently the space I was in belongs to Iceland although there are no signs saying this.
“The attendant watched us enter the store and as soon as we disappeared issued a ticket for £80.”
Elaine lodged an appeal against the ticket, but this was rejected, leaving her to pay the hefty fine.
