The Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Shoreham Airshow has only seen one major plane crash in its 26 years, and it was the same make involved in today’s (August 22) incident.

The show was hit by tragedy once before, on September 15, 2007, when a Second World War vintage Hawker Hurricane fighter aircraft crashed near Lancing College.

Brian Brown, the pilot, was killed in the incident.
