The Friends of Seaside Rec will be holding its third annual Fun Day on Sunday (August 7).
The Friends of Seaside Rec was formed in 2014 to improve the only green space in Devonshire West, by raising the recreation ground’s profile and raising funds.
The group is currently in the process of raising funds to purchase new equipment for the playground, as well as installing an all weather path to offer improved access for wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs.
The second phase is to build a café and new toilet facilities.
Sunday’s fun day will take place between noon and 5pm.
There will be plenty of entertainment for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
There will be performances by the Hunters Moon Morris Dancers, Pentacle Drummers, with live music from Sarah Baker, Helen Ward Jackson, Jess Willard and Phil Lucas.
The Crown & Anchor will be providing a beer tent, plus other hot and cold refreshments will be available.
Children’s games, a bouncy castle and more than 30 stalls will be available on the day.
One of the highlights of the event will be a dog show, which starts at 2pm, with classes including Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Waggiest Tail, Best Veteran, Best Crossbreed, Best Condition and Best In Show.
Entry to the event is free.
