A police helicopter was sent out to search for two women with their small children, after they got lost in the Alfriston countryside.
Sussex Police said, “At 7.55pm on Tuesday (March 3) we received a call from two women who, with their two small children, had become lost whilst walking from Alfriston towards Seaford, having missed a bus some 90 minutes earlier, and were apparently on downland near the road.
“Local officers kept in touch with them by mobile phone and were able, with the help of a police helicopter, to find them 40 minutes later, on a path near Rathfinny farm on the downs outside Alfriston.
“They were tired but unhurt and were driven back to Alfriston in a police vehicle, from where they took a taxi home.”
The police helicopter was dispatched form Redhill, and used thermal imaging to locate the group.
