VOLUNTEERS rallied round to get a community project in Seaford underway.

The aim of the scheme is to see a beach garden created in the town in time for the summer holidays.

The project has been headed up by the Seaford Seafront Theme Group and boasts a marine theme, with rustic plants and a boat.

Site preparation at the Sunken Garden near the Beachcomber and West View has begun and last Wednesday a number of volunteers pulled together to help get the scheme started.

Anyone who would like to help should email: or contact Joanne Smith at the Seaford Gazette on 414485.
