Seaford man suffers serious injuries in bus collision

A 53-year-old man from Seaford is being treated for serious head and back injuries after he was hit by a double-decker bus on the A23 Preston Road, Brighton.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 5.40pm on Friday, April 8.

The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics and an air ambulance medical team before being taken by land ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The bus, a Brighton and Hove Bus Company service, was driven by a 35-year-old man from Eastbourne, who was unhurt.

There were also no reports of any injuries to passengers.

The road was closed and diversions put in place until 9.25pm while the incident was investigated.
