A TALENTED teenager from Seaford is hoping to sing her way to the finals of a competition.
Jasmin Bower has already impressed judges with her first audition and is through to the regional stages of the Live and Unsigned event.
The 14-year-old, who plays the guitar, has penned a number of her own songs and it was one of these called Lights that helped her through her audition.
Her stepmum Sarah Bower said, “She is very, very talented. Everyone is over the moon.
“It would mean everything to Jasmin to win, she’s a very clever girl, but this is what she really wants to do.”
The regional part of the competition will take place on April 16 at Hove Town Hall.
If the Seaford Head Community College pupil manages to wow the judges at that round she then has the area finals to compete in before the main event which is being held at the 02 arena.
Jasmin has recorded several of her own songs at a professional studio and also taken part in a number of open mic nights at a pub in Willingdon.
For the next stage of Live and Unsigned she must sing an original song which then flows into a cover.
The winner of the competition is set to get the chance to record their own album.
People can support Jasmin who is due to appear on radio station Seahaven FM during half-term, by buying tickets for the forthcoming event which is being held at Hove Town Hall.
