A teacher at Seaford Head School has been sacked “for breaches of school policy”.
She has been named as Rosalind Ramsey, the former head of science.
The school said in a statement, “In September 2014 concerns were raised about a member of staff. The school acted immediately.
“The member of staff was suspended and an investigation was held. Following this investigation, the member of staff was dismissed for breaches of school policy. During this time the school had the full support of East Sussex County Council.
“Please be assured that the safeguarding and well-being of all children is our upmost concern. We are determined to continue to work hard to ensure the future success of the school.”
Miss Ramsey is understood to have been dismissed on Friday.
A spokesman for East Sussex County Council said, “We acted as soon as we were informed of concerns at the school and an investigation was held in line with standard child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
“That investigation has now concluded and a decision was made that this was a disciplinary matter for the academy trust which runs the school and no further action was required from a safeguarding or child protection perspective.
“We have provided all of the necessary information to the academy to allow them to take this forward.”
