AN OLYMPIC-style challenge was completed by a Seaford couple to boost funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Chris and Christine Ketley set off on the final leg from Tower Bridge to deliver the ‘Not the Olympic’ Torch to the Loughton offices of Haslars chartered accountants, where they were met with a Champagne reception.

Completing their part in the challenge was a double celebration for the pair, who tied the knot weeks after the event.

Chris, who is joint senior partner at Sussex accountants Knill James, and Christine are both fitness fanatics who between them run 40-plus miles a week.

The couple were joined by partners and staff from Knill James to represent the south east of England in the national challenge.

The event was coordinated by the UK 200 Group, the country’s leading independent accountancy and legal services organisation.

The Knill James group, which has headquarters in Lewes, was responsible for the South East England leg.

More than 300 lawyers and accountants will be working together in relay to bear the Olympic-style torch from Perth all the way to the Olympic Park in London. The fundraiser is expected to end in November.
