Seaford: Champion Bakers go head to head

MEMBERS of Seaford and Peacehaven Horticultural Societies and Bishopstone Village Hall are being invited to become MasterChef style judges for a New Year’s event.

The Champion Bakers of Peacehaven, Seaford and Bishopstone will be going head to head in five baking categories with the audience tasting and marking victoria sponges, scones, rock cakes, sausage rolls and cup cakes.

The event is due to take place on February 16 at St Leonard’s Church Hall in Seaford.

The Champion Baker of Peacehaven Horticultural Society – winner of this year’s Cornelius Cup – Marilyn Nolan said, “I can’t wait to bake off against two other local champions and I hope the audience enjoy the interactive experience of ‘judging’ the entries. “Also raising money for charity is just the icing on the cake!”

The overall champion of ‘Sea-Haven’ will be presented with a cup by the mayor of Seaford, Councillor Linda Wallraven and all proceeds raised will go to WAVES Family Support Service in Seaford and the horticultural societies.
