MY Golden Flying Years, the reminiscences of former Bexhill aviator Air Commodore D’Arcy Greig presented in an edited and entertaining format by fellow Bexhillians Norman Franks and Simon Muggleton, is now on sale, and to promote it the two men will be at Much Ado Books in Alfriston this Sunday (January 16).

The duo will be there from 2pm until 4pm to talk to customers and sign copies of the book.

Published by Grub Street, the basis for My Golden Flying Years were memoirs written by D’Arcy Greig some 40 years ago for his own enjoyment, and 20 years before his death in 1986.

They recount his career as a First World War pilot in France, his time with the RAF in the Middle East during the 1920s and his involvement in the Schneider Trophy Race of 1929.
