The 150th anniversary celebrations at Eastbourne College lit up the sky on Friday (February 24) thanks to a stunning fireworks display courtesy of two former pupils whose previous projects include the Rio Olympics, the Queen’s 90th celebrations and the 2017 Six Nations Rugby.
More than 2,000 pupils, staff and members of the public enjoyed the free display on College Field which was masterminded by Event FX Limited, which is run by Harry Guthrie, who was at the school from 1996-2001 and Owain White, who attended from 1992-1997.
A College spokesperson said the school was ‘extremely fortunate’ to secure their services as the company is ‘internationally renowned’.
The evening started with musical performances from pupils and staff in the school theatre and after the fireworks, more than 200 people enjoyed a curry evening in the College Dining Hall.
