Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SASBAH) is celebrating the 50th year throughout 2015 and has held a series of celebratory events.

Seven young people from the charity who are participating in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) added their own bit of sparkle for the charity’s golden year by successfully completing a four-day journey by canal boat for the expedition section of their Gold DofE.

Alice Goodman, Emma Hill, Georgie Lee, Georgia Hill, Adam Moors, Rosie Matthews and Perry Orr all took part and completed the challenge. They undertook the journey on the Kennet & Avon Canal in Wiltshire and Berkshire.

The super seven were responsible for operating the boat including steering, preparing meals and daily boat checks, plus opening and closing the locks and swing bridges.
