A CAT was found dumped in a suitcase outside a shop in Eastbourne on New Year’s Day.
The adult male cat, pictured right, was found on New Year’s Day and a kind-hearted person took him to the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare.
He has now been named Branson by staff at Raystede after Sir Richard Branson and his connection with travel and suitcases.
Sharon Williams at the centre near Ringmer said, “The frightened animal was brought in, in relatively good condition, despite his traumatic ordeal.
“The black and white male had not been microchipped and despite looking for an owner, no one has yet come forward to claim him.”
It may have been a sad start to the new year for the furry feline but 2011 could still be a good year for Branson as there has already been good interest in him, with several people interested in giving him a new home.
Anyone interested in rehoming Branson, or any other animal at Raystede should call 01825 840252.
