The RSPCA raided a house in Pevensey Bay after concerns were raised about domestic birds on the property.

Inspectors from the organisation, backed up by police, arrived at the address in The Square, on the Beachlands Estate, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday (July 29).

The police helped inspectors gain access to the building.

One eyewitness said a bird was confiscated from the house - but neither the police or the RSPCA were able to confirm this.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA told the Herald, “Yesterday (Wednesday) the RSPCA along with Sussex Police attended a property in the Beachlands Estate area of Pevensey Bay following a call from a member of the public over the welfare of some domestic birds.

“At present our investigations are still ongoing and we cannot provide any further information at this time.”
