Ringmer barn fire was arson say police

Police are looking for witnesses or information concerning a barn fire in Ringmer which destroyed 100 bales of hay and part of the building.

Firefighters were called to the barn at Old House Farm at around 9pm on Thursday (July 21) by which time it was well alight.

The barn is owned by the Glyndebourne Estate and rented out for storage.

Sussex Police said a subsequent investigation showed the most likely cause of the blaze was arson.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1631 of 21/07.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestopopers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
