Seventy-three-year-old Roger Powe lived in Brighton.

His body was found on the shore at Beachy Head on December 19 last year.

An inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (August 5) heard Mr Powe had been an Anglican minister, worked as a school chaplain and in recent years converted to Catholicism.

He had suffered with bowel cancer but was in remission.
