Residents at New Derby House in Seaside are delighted that Eastbourne Homes has been upgrading their retirement accommodation.

The work, which was carried out by contractor H Wilson Ltd, started in April and was completed this month.

Sylvia Compton was one of the first residents to have her kitchen and bathroom transformed and she is delighted with the results. She said practical changes have been made and said, “They’re both lovely. It took about three weeks to do and the workmen have done a good job.

“They took the bath out so I now have a walk in shower, which is more practical for me.

“I was allowed to choose my own flooring, wall colours, work tops and handles and I’m very pleased with the results.”

Eastbourne Homes’ on-site co-ordinator, Kevin Pearce-Biggs, said, “The residents who have had their kitchens and bathrooms transformed are delighted with the work and are pleased that Eastbourne Homes is investing in their flats.”
