More than £600 was raised for Demelza Hospice Care for Children at Pooches on the Prom - a fun dog walk and show at the weekend.
Despite torrential rain and winds, kind-hearted dog owners walked the three mile route from Helen Gardens to the pier and back to raise funds for the charity.
The walk was followed by a dog show which saw Ruby, the winner of the veteran class, scooping top prize, best in show (pictured).
Lola, the winner of the charity’s recent photo competition, also won a trophy for best small dog – much to the delight of her owner, Chloe.
Julie Brett, community fundraiser at Demelza, said, “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who braved the weather to take part in our fun event – it was a great day.
“I’d also like to thank Eastbourne Town Football Club for sponsoring the event and Paw Prints Dog Photography for taking such wonderful photographs for us.
“We couldn’t care for our local families without the support of people within the community.
“We help more than 150 families across East Sussex, at a cost of £1,600 per day, so every penny counts!”
