RAIL STRIKE: Commuters take to social media to complain

With today's rail strike forcing many commuters to find different routes to work, the question being raised on social media is - how to get home again?

Fran Barr on Twitter sums up the general feeling: “How am I supposed to get home later if the last train leaves before I finish work?”

Emma M is a bit more forceful: “Really Southern Rail?!? I work for a living so the last train is at 6pm?!? Really?”

Louisa Flynn, though, provides an insight into travelling this morning: “1st train of the day to Brighton, glad to see it has larger amount of carriages, standing room only from Worthing.”

And another person on Twitter points out it’s not just people working who have a problem: “Southern Industrial Action not just commuters affected, all kids trying to get school Ashford, Hastings, Bexhill, Rye, Eastbourne.”

Not surprisingly, though, there’s a lot of unhappy customers venting their anger on social media, such as Tim Reaney: “I understand you have the right to stand up for what you want but don’t hold comuters/CUSTOMERS to ransom!”.

While some people are just glad to have completed their journey: “Made it into work! 1-0 to me trains!”
