A Charity Busking Day and Charity Concert – the first of a number of planned projects initiated by the newly formed Eastbourne Schools Partnership – is taking place on October 4 in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Young people from Cavendish School, Causeway School, Eastbourne College, Moira House Girls School, Ratton School, Sussex Downs College and Willingdon Community School will entertain from 10am - 4pm in various locations across the town centre (including the top of the Wish Tower from 10am – 1pm). There will also be a pavement artist working throughout the afternoon. He will sketch out a very large St Wilfrid’s logo and the aim is to get this covered with coins by the end of the day.
At 7pm there will be a Charity Concert at the Birley Centre featuring the young artists who have busked throughout the day. All the schools involved will be represented. Admission is free but generous donation is encouraged in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Refreshments will be available.
Hospice chief executive Kara Bishop said, “We are so delighted that so many schools and so many musicians are going to be busking in aid of the hospice. The date is particularly special to us as it is the beginning of national Hospice Care Week.”
