New Eastbourne flats to replace former shops site

Plans to replace a row of former shops with social housing have been approved by Eastbourne planners.

On Tuesday (October 20), Eastbourne Borough Council planners approved proposals to demolish four largely derelict former shops at 183 Langney Road with a block of 12 apartments.

The apartments are to be made up of a mix of seven one-bed maisonettes, four two-bed maisonettes and a single studio flat.

The proposed development is to be built out and then managed by Aspiration Homes, a housing association which works with the council.

It will also be a zero parking development, which was considered to be acceptable due to its sustainable location for public transport.
