Police seek woman over alleged witness intimidation

Police are searching for a woman who they want to trace and interview about a report of attempted witness intimidation at an East Sussex court.

On November 19 last year, two women were attending a hearing for a case at Lewes Crown Court. As they were sitting in a public gallery in the court, the suspect approached them and made a verbal threat.

The photo of the woman is being published in a bid to identify and trace her. She is described as white, in her late twenties, of average build with long dark straight hair, wearing dark clothing with a beige cardigan.

Anyone who recognises the woman is asked to contact Sussex Police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 229 of 29/01.

You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-org.uk)

The case the women were attending is still sub judice. Three defendants have been charged with assault and are currently on court bail, due for trial in April this year.
