Police in Eastbourne have released an e-fit of a suspect who tried to rob a man in a local car park.

At around 5.40pm on Monday, February 9, the 51-year old local resident was getting out of his car in the car park outside a block of flats in Winchelsea Road, Eastbourne when he was approached by a man who attacked him with a bat of some kind and demanded his wallet.

Fortunately the victim only received minor injuries and managed to escape without anything being taken. The suspect made off from the scene in the direction of Wartling Road.

Detective Constable Dan Thomson said, “The suspect is described as white, of pale complexion and in his early twenties, wearing dark clothing and balaclava.
