A young motorcyclist from Seaford who died after a crash in Berwick has now been named by Sussex Police.
Jacob Packham, 23, from Pelham Place, suffered multiple injuries when he was involved in collision with a Land Rover Defender near the entrance to Arlington Reservoir in Station Road, Berwick at around 12.15pm on Sunday, March 19.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where sadly he passed away on Thursday afternoon (March 23).
The Land Rover, which was towing a horsebox, was driven by a 58-year-old man from Berwick, who received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Police are continuing to seek both witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw either of the two vehicles shortly before the collision.
In particular, officers say they are keen to speak to the occupants of a dark-coloured people carrier, which witnesses say was seen passing over the level crossing at Berwick railway station moments before the motorcyclist.
Anyone with information is asked to email email@example.com, or to report details online at https://sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal/ or to phone 101, quoting Operation Chesterfield.
