Police investigating suspicious Eastbourne fire

Police are investigating a suspicious fire in Eastbourne early this morning (January 11).

The fire was found in a Ford Transit people carrier behind a house in Kings Drive at around 12.53am.

A crew of Eastbourne firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to tackle the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said the incident had been left with police at around 1.15am as it was of ‘doubtful origin’.

Police are investigating and have begun house-to-house enquiries in the area.
