A 16-year-old girl who died after being in collision with a car in Susans Road, Eastbourne, shortly after 11pm on Wednesday (August 12) has now been named.
She was Juliette Lamon, from Uccle, Brussels, Belgium. She had been visiting Eastbourne with an international language school.
Following the collision with a grey Hyundai car near the junction with Pevensey Road, she was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where sadly she died.
An investigation into the collision continues and Sussex Police are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They can do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning 101, quoting Operation Coat.
Meanwhile a 45-year-old man from Bexhill-on-Sea who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed until October 14.
