The police helicopter was out in the skies above Eastbourne in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
It was involved in a search for a wanted man in the Friday Street area of the town and could be seen circling the Langney area.
A spokesperson at Sussex Police said, “Shortly before 3am a National Police Air Service helicopter went to the assistance of Sussex officers searching for a wanted man in the Friday Street area of Eastbourne. No trace was found.”
It is not linked to the lengthy search in Friston Forest yesterday (Thursday) for a wanted man who allegedly took police on a high speed chase through the countryside and up on to the Downs before escaping.
