A police helicopter scaled Beachy Head last night after reports that a person from London was missing.
Police were assisting in a search for a missing person from London who was believed to be at Beachy Head at about 9.20pm on Monday (May 18).
The helicopter was called in at 3am on Tuesday (May 19) and together with officers carried out a significant search of the area for the man.
No one matching the man’s description was found and the Metropolitan police continue to make enquiries.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said it was called at 11.07am this morning (May 19), to assist in the search, and Eastbourne lifeboat was also called out just after 11am this morning.
Nothing was found.
