It is being treated by police as arson.

Sussex Police said they were informed three people lived at the property – two have not been found.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said it will be some time before forensic scientists can access the building due to the ferocity of the fire and the subsequent damage caused.

The identities of those affected have not been officially released.
