A woman has been arrested in relation to a hit and run incident in Hailsham.
Police arrested the 35-year-old, from Hailsham, this afternoon (Wednesday, February 10). She is in custody for interview on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
A car has also been recovered by police.
The arrest comes after a Hailsham pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a collision at about 6.40am on Tuesday, February 9 in South Road. The 78-year-old woman is still in a critical but stable condition in the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
