Police arrest pair on suspicion of drugs charges in Seaford

Two men have been questioned by police on suspicion of having cannabis they intended to sell.

The 19-year-old from Peacehaven and 26-year-old from Seaford were arrested after officers saw a white Vauxhall Astra speeding in Steyne Road, Seaford, at 7.30pm on October 2.

When the car stopped in Cricketfield Road, the 19-year-old and 26-year-old were detained.

They were questioned on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply before they were released on bail until December 5 while officers carry out further inquiries.

Police are still searching for a third man on suspicion of driving while disqualified and taking a vehicle without consent.

Sergeant Stuart Mullins said, “We will not tolerate drug dealers or drug dealing in the community.

“Drug dealing causes misery and antisocial behaviour and we will take action whenever we are given information about offences being committed in the area.”

Anyone with information about drug dealing should call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. If you see drug dealing taking place call 999.
