Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed and injured in a Hailsham alleyway yesterday morning.

The incident occurred in an alleyway between Vicarage Road and Chapel Barn Close, known locally as the Black Path, at around 6.10am on Monday, February 22.

The victim, a 26-year-old local man, was confronted by two men, both of average build, about 5’10”, wearing dark trousers and dark hoodies with the hoods up. Both are thought to be white.

One of the suspects took items from the victim’s pockets, including a cash card, before he was pushed to the ground, sustaining a cut to his leg which later required hospital treatment. Both assailants then ran off.

Detective Constable Claire Linsell, of East Sussex CID, said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened or who may have noticed the suspects in the area. Any information about this incident will be treated in confidence”

Anyone able to help is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 322 of 22/02. Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
