Police appeal after Eastbourne distraction burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a bungalow in Friston Avenue in Eastbourne at 10am on Tuesday September 2.

The occupant answered the door to a man saying he needed to check the boiler and walked towards the kitchen. After a few minutes later as he went to leave he shouted to another man that had come into the house. The occupant then found £300 had been stolen.

There are believed to be two suspects.

The first is described as a white man, aged 40 to 45, 5’ 8”, of average build with fair hair and a London accent.

The second is described as a white man, aged 30 to 40 with dark brown hair.

Detective Constable Jo Barber said, “If anyone has any information about this incident or anyone acting suspiciously in the Friston Avenue area of Eastbourne on 2 September please contact us.”
