Diamond Care, in High Street, is a domiciliary care service providing support to 33 older people, and those living with dementia and other conditions, in their own homes.

An inspector from the CQC carried out an announced inspection on January 17.

The inspection report, published on March 1, expressed concerns about staff access to ongoing training and a lack of quality assurance systems.

But the CQC acknowledged that clients felt safe, cared for by staff and that people’s care was tailored to them and they were involved in the development of their care plans.

However the inspector found ‘several breaches’ of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and has asked Diamond Care to take further action, including ensuring staff receive appropriate support, training or professional development to enable them to carry out the duties they are employed to perform.

Diamond Care was rated ‘requires improvement’ in three key areas - safe, effective and well-led - and ‘good’ for being caring and responsive.
