COFFEE MO0RNING: The coffee morning tomorrow, Saturday, in the lounge at Community Centre, is hosted by Polegate Scouts. All welcome from 10am to noon.

WALKS: Tomorrow, Saturday, Foothills of the Downs, 4 miles with Diana W. Meet at Co-op Albert Parade, Old Town 10am, frequent buses numbers 1 and 1A. Leader offers refreshments after the walk. On Sunday, Hope for Fabulous Views, 7.5 miles with Clare K. Meet bus 12 or 12A 9.37am Terminus Road to Blakeney Avenue on A259 after Newhaven top of hill just past Golf Club, where walk starts at 10.05am. GR 431010 dry lunch. Seaford Martello Tower for return bus. On Wednesday, Guiness Book of Records, 8 miles with Glyn R. Meet at Eastbourne Station for 9.09am train to Rye Station. Walk starts at 10am from Rye Station. Dry lunch, woodland and field paths. Optional tea at end.

TALK: On Tuesday afternoon the Eastbourne Local History Society talk is entitled Down the Line from Polegate to Eastbourne by Maureen Copping 2pm at All Souls Church Hall, Wellesley Road, Eastbourne. Doors open at 1.15pm. All future talks will also take place at this new venue. Visitors welcome at £2 per person.
