A FANTASTIC free play day took place on Tuesday (August 16) at Princes Park.
The play scheme was one of several special days at parks across Eastbourne, run by the borough council’s play ranger and paid for by the Big Lottery Fund.
Tuesday’s event featured a wide range of activities including face painting, arts and crafts, messy play, lots of different sports, circus skills, bouncy castles and inflatable fun, story time, and a bike which helps to create fruit smoothie drinks.
The scheme operates an ‘open access policy’ which allows children over eight to come and go as they please.
But the council stressed the sessions are not a substitute for childcare and children under eight must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
