Plans have been unveiled to build a new care home in Eastbourne.
Consultation is currently underway by Hallmark Homes to knock down a property on the corner of Decoy Drive and Kings Drive and build the 86 bed care home in its place.
A meeting was held in Hampden Park last week for residents to give their views on the development by Hallmark Care Homes.
Residents were shown architect’s drawings of a four floor development with car parking spaces and a new proposed entrance on to Decoy Drive.
Hallmark says the new home will provide up to 90 new jobs.
Hallmark Care Homes has a number of other properties in the UK – the nearest is in Maycroft Manor in Brighton, which was visited by health watchdogs in September who said it needed improvement in two areas of care but rated it good in three other areas.
