Residents in the area have been experiencing problems with their phone reception after a mast was damaged in a storm a few weeks ago.

Engineers have been working on a temporary solution and once the installation is complete, will test the equipment. Subject to everything being successful, 2G and 3G service is expected to be provided in the next 48 hours.

An 02 spokesperson said: “A mast in Seaford recently experienced extensive storm damage and engineers are currently on site putting a temporary solution in place.

“Surrounding sites have also been adjusted to increase signal which will help keep any disruption to a minimum for customers in the immediate area.

“Incidents like this are rare and we apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing our customers.”

The permanent mast damaged in the storm will require a complete rebuild before it is able to provide 2G, 3G and 4G service to the area.

A timescale for this is not yet known.
